Cuonzo Martin is the Head Coach for the University of Missouri Men’s Basketbal Team. He was introduced as the 19th head coach to lead the storied Tigers program. Martin, who enters his second season at Mizzou after spending three seasons as head coach at the University of California, has averaged 20.6 wins in 10 seasons as a head coach with eight postseason appearances over the last nine years to his credit.
Martin, who was born in St. Louis and moved to East St. Louis, Ill., as a young child, owns a 10-year head coaching record of 206-134 (.606), which includes a three-year mark of 62-39 (.614) at California. He is coming off his seventh 20-win campaign in 10 seasons, becoming the second first-year head coach in Mizzou history to lead the Tigers to 20 wins.
Martin steered Mizzou to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2012-13 in 2017-2018, becoming the 59th head coach in NCAA history to lead three different programs to the Big Dance (Tennessee, Cal and Missouri). He and his wife, Roberta, have two sons, Joshua and Chase, and a daughter, Addison.
